Connecticut-based metal outfit 6Five6 was founded in 2020 as the brainchild of bassist Rich Villalobos and guitarist Kai Stone. Shortly after meeting on Bandmix, the two started jamming together on a joke project. After the next few years of refining its sound and settling on a solid lineup, the band has since gained a reputation as a rising powerhouse well outside its regional base.

With a sonic identity that builds on the foundations laid by New Wave of American Heavy Metal legends from Slayer and Slipknot—whose work most of the band’s members have already interpreted as part of tribute act Slapknutz, the evolution of Rich and Kai’s joke project—to Exodus, Korn, As I Lay Dying and beyond, 6Five6’s hard-hitting, cohesive signature sound has remained unmistakeable across a host of gigs at local institutions to date.

Now, keeping momentum at an all-time high as a diverse and growing group of fans lie hungry in wait for the band’s next moves, 6Five6 remain hard at work putting the finishing touches on their debut full-length record, slated for an official announcement over the months to come alongside a slew of tour dates and other live performances across the country.
